For every family we serve, bereavement is available with Abbey Hospice
for a minimum of thirteen months after the death of a loved one. We are
happy to be a listening ear, a warm hug, a shoulder to cry on, or just a
quiet presence.
Our services include telephone contacts, home visits, bereavement counseling
(by appointment), support groups, referral to community resources, informational
mailings about the grieving process and self care, grief camps
for children and teenagers, and an annual memorial service.

Walk Down Memory Lane
Camp Journey
Memorial Services |

|
|
Walk Down Memory Lane:
An annual walk through the streets of Social Circle,
Georgia. This walk, either a 1 mile route or 3 mile
route, is a bereavement tool to help you celebrate the life
of your loved one. Along the route, questions are
asked to help your remember and celebrate who this special
person was in your life. The next Walk Down Memory
Lane will occurs Spring 2010.
Camp Journey:
Children grieve differently and often need a different
experience to help their grief process. Camp Journey, a
balance of play and grief work, is offered every spring to
any child who has experienced the death of a loved one.
Camp Journey is for children and youth ages 7-17 and is
completely free of charge. Your loved one need not have
been a patient at Abbey in order for your child to attend.
Memorial Services:
In the fall and spring, Abbey Hospice offers two Memorial
Services to help remember the loss of your loved one. Often
the funeral comes too soon and the grieving process during
that time can often feel like a whirlwind. This service is
designed as a chance to remember your loved one and to once
again spend time with Abbey staff and volunteers that cared
for your relative or friend.
